In their 2013 debut advertising campaign, the Boards of Canada album "Tomorrow's Harvest" is announced following a massive treasure hunt on the web to involve vinyl and secret source codes.
The album's first single, "Reach For The Dead", is presented with a surprise world premiere through a giant video in central Tokyo, on June 5.
The band, after that, tweet the coordinates of a location in Yermo, California, for an event that was supposed to take place on Monday at 5:00 pm, local time:
it will turn out to be the album listening party, happened in the middle of a California desert.
According to several people who arrived on the scene, Tomorrow's Harvest is played in full by a pair of speakers, positioned on both sides of a caravan. More than 60 people gather for the event and an introductory speaker tells them that can be recorded the sound till the first three songs of the album...
PS "Reach For The Dead" doesn't count, right?
